Loft Zuidervest
Pinxten Restoration's stylish loft Zuidervest recently completed an innovative flooring project committed to sustainability and quality. A lime screed 8 cm thick was applied on top of the classic floor heating, using a traditional screed truck. This screed is composed of recycled sand from Bioterra and a binder based on NHL 5, a natural hydraulic lime. This provides an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional cementitious chapes. The chosen composition was slightly greasier than the traditional mix with cement, providing less shrinkage sensitivity and better vapor permeability, without sacrificing compressive or flexural strength.
After installation, the lime screed was carefully flattened to give the floor a smooth and even finish. This process guaranteed a sleek and seamless result that both functionally and aesthetically matches the modern design of loft Zuidervest. With this combination of innovative materials and processing techniques, the floor offers durability and comfort, matching the progressive vision of the project.
