Hemp fibre for insulation mortars

Hemp is one of the fastest growing crops and purifies the air by converting large amounts of CO2 as it grows. The raw material hemp is a versatile and renewable crop. Hemp grows to a height of almost 4 metres in 100 to 120 days and grows on all types of soil. Weeds are thus given no chance and weed control is not necessary. Hemp concrete is a natural building product par excellence. It absorbs CO2 for the lifetime of the building.

The use of hemp straw, water and lime creates a mix that has excellent thermal and acoustic properties. It buffers temperature and humidity, prevents mould growth and turns the building into a comfortable, healthy environment. It is fire and pest resistant, lightweight and forms a rigid wall that is vapour permeable to prevent excessive humidity and condensation. Mixed with BATICHANVRE or TRADÉCO it creates an insulating mortar with excellent properties.
